Description
This in my favorite swan, Papa. The last time I saw him, I was very sad. He and Mama swan had lost all their babies this year and it looked like he had been in a fight, probably protecting them. I saw a large hawk circling above, so I am thinking he may have been the predator. Papas nose was pink and scraped off and he had furry in his eyes. It was awful too see him like that. I waited a while before coming back, because he did not want to be bothered. When I came back they were out of the pond and let me get very close with my macro lens. They stayed right there and I was within a few feet of Papa. They were mostly calm and at ease. His nose looked great and when he looked at me with those beautiful blue eyes, I felt like we were closer friends than ever before. He proceeded to pose for me on land and in the water. It sure made my day to know that they were alright and we still had our connection.
