He is not really evil, he just has evil eyes! This Emu was taken at Winslow Farm Animal Santuary, in Norton, MA. The woman that runs it, on donations alone, is my hero! She is taking in more animals in need. Check it out, make a donation if you want to help the beautiful animals there.https://www.winslowfarm.com/
Facts about emu
Emus are the second largest bird in the world. What’s first? Why the ostrich of course!
They can grow up to 2m tall.
They can live between ten and twenty years in the wild.
They are covered in soft fluffy feathers.
They have two sets of eyelids, one for blinking and the other for keeping the dust out!

🌼LINDA 🌼you created a magnificent portrait ! Beauty and perhaps even evil - is in the eye of the beholder ? I see sadness in his eyes...
Linda Howes replied:
It was just a joke, he's not evil, just had an evil eye that day! Thanks very much Hartmut!

We had 16 emus growing up, with baby emus running in our fields. Almost all of them were very big babies, but yes I’ve met a few that were evil. Fortunately, they can’t kick backwards like a ostrich. Love the intensity in this one’s eyes. Did you get a chance to hear their calls? LF and following
Linda Howes replied:
Thanks Sam. It was a few years ago, I don't think I did hear him. I think there was only one there at that time. He's not evil! :)
Gun Legler
Oh, this little one is so cool. Trying to look big and dangerous, but in vain. Instead he is charming. Wonderful shot!
Linda Howes replied:
Thanks so much Gun! I think he was just being himself, but at that angle he had the look.
