Description
This was taken at Buttonwood Park Zoo in New Bedford, MA. This was taken through a glass enclosure, in what they call the tropical rain forest. I saw the other monkeys high up in the branches and was hoping they would come down. When this little guy came down, I was more than excited. I thought he was their baby. Come to find out, he's just tiny because he's a Pygmy.
The Pygmy Marmoset is the smallest monkey weighing 3 to 5 ounces! Newborns are roughly the size of a human thumb! They live in Bolivia, Brazil, Columbia, Ecuador and Peru.
